Of of the best albums from De La Soul, if you can find this, get it. This marks a shift from them working with Prince Paul to working with J Dilla and the sound on it is phenomenal. It’s a very very good pressing of an album of conscious hip hop pioneers and innovators. The skill level of these three are undeniable and this particular moment was a beautiful time of growth and maturity that can clearly be heard from front to back. Content rich, pressing far above board. I literally bought a 9 tote lot of records because I saw this one in NM condition in the first tote. Done deal. -
There are variations of this promo with different versions of the Stakes is High track. The label is the easiest identifier between the versions. This version has "de la soul" top center of the label outlined in black with no fill on a white label. "Stake is High" is just below, above center and is in solid black. The jacket is solid black with no art or lettering.
