Another great De La Soul album, that is only held back by it's kinda...I don't wanna say "mediocre" beats, but it's missing Prince Paul's playfulness. Don't get me wrong, it's well produced and the lyrics are as great as always, but sometimes I wonder if it was some kind of meta joke from them, to release an album that criticized the then current state Hip Hop, but sounded like nearly everything else in the genre at that time..

As far as De La Soul's 20th century albums go, this is my least favourite. There is still lots of good stuff to be found, and I like to listen to it once in a while, but I also can't really think of one song on it, that would make my top 10 list.

Probably De La's best album!! Its so rounded, full of serious subjects, fun elements and party elements. A great album in my hip hop top ten albums for certain.
