Sounds fine to my ears. Not noticeably richer or better in quality than streaming, but no pressing issues, skips or clicks/pops either. But god the packaging is a pain. This should have been a triple gatefold- stuffing two discs with paper sleeves into the same housing took me a solid three whole minutes of nudging back and forth. Extremely frustrating

When I ordered this I was so worried that I was gonna get the 2023 repress. Not that that is any bad at all. Anyways. I ended up gettin this version and I am so pleased with it. Sounds great and is a true masterpiece from the one and only Premier behind the weels of steel and Guru on the mic🙌

Edited one year agoI was able to grab the album after a restock (I assume, it still shows 2015 pressing) from Popmarket.
After opening the sealed package, the records were quite a bit dusty and had some fingerprints that I could see.
Since this has 3 LPs, the first jacket sleeve is a bit tight and even fitting in the third LP on the other sleeve was tight. I noticed some hairline scratches on Disc 1 probably from the tight fit with paper sleeves. I noticed a lot of fine dust in the grooves even after a wet wash on each vinyl that I could not get out with a carbon fiber brush. After playing 2 of the discs, there was a good amount of dust on my stylus. Not sure if it was the Preemo samples or surface noise but there was some pops and cracks but hopefully the first run through helped get all the dust out of the grooves but either way, sound was great. Everything was clear, there's no lack of volume, Guru's flow was supreme and Premier's beats were on point.
25th Anniversary is coming up - maybe there will be a special pressing? -

Also GZ Media cop lots of flack but are very capable of producing high quality records. For instance GZ press almost all Vinyl Me Please issues for Hip Hop releases and the majority sound great and have very good quality control...

This was pressed by RTI and mastered at Masterdisk . RTC cop lots of negativity, they do have quality control issues and use the shitty paper inner sleeves but many reissues they bring out sound good or even very good after a good clean. It seems to be an issue with many U.S hip hop releases though I have noticed recently more companies are using poly lined inner sleeves which is a good start. I find more often than not that the E.U issues are more likely to use better inner sleeves and more frequently are better quality pressings (not always) but mostly.

Amazing pressing. Mine has a mislable on the third disc, two side E's. If any mislable/print collectors are interested hmu, would prefer to trade for another mint copy as i love this album

How can the repress from
2015/2021 sell for more than the original pressing from 95? Shits getting crazy… -
Bought a mint (sealed) version on Discogs, sound is great, no pops and clicks, but good god, the quality control is terrible. Completely covered in paper scuffs when taking the records out, heavily wrapped (not audible) and covered in fingers prints and dirt. After cleaning it sounds great, but how can a new record be in this shape....
