You can always tell when the normie masses discover something known to everyone else since forever. Meanwhile, those that don't follow trends or d♤ck-ride, most likely already have oG copies of this record & are not sweating a notoriously bad record label to do business with as they attempt (I don't blame them) at capitalizing on the zombie like trend that started 10 years ago of everyone needing records, especially when the music makes them feel "hip" because they view the artist as fringe edgy or underground. Which Blackstar is not any of those things of course. But that's semantics

Yeah picture disc, a little crackly at times but overall sound is full, rich, clear on my copy. Great album. Best alliance in hip hop

My picture disc personally has no crackling/looping at all and the sound quality is perfect but! Alot of people have issues with this 2014 pressing -
Before you comment on the quality of this pressing, do your homework on picture discs. It seems most of the newbies here have no idea they are for display purposes only. Pic discs will always sound like garbage.

Snap! crackle! pop! This album is noisy as all hell. It looks nice but really bothers me. Compared to the 12” singles i have the mix otherwise sounds pretty faithful to the OG but everything is a bit lower. -
Wonderful looking album, but the master is noticeably low volume. Bummer pressing for such an epic album.

I bought the new version from this year and the Matrix / Runout of side B is different ("RE" at the end). Maybe they fixed the problems? Should it be a new version on discogs? -
Picture disc style has pretty bad side effects. My pressing's play of "Twice Inna Lifetime" is looped by record damage about halfway through. Very unfortunate, I won't be buying picture discs again after this experience. Avoid this press if you can

Mine loops on Thieves in the Night. Otherwise, it plays great. Wasn’t expecting such a dynamic pressing, but it was. Definitely a good buy.
