I'm listening to my entire Fab Four vinyl collection due to a turntable cartridge change. I must say that this copy is perfect, excellent pressing, quiet and flat, very good dynamics and soundstage and very detailed. It is very enjoyable to listen to.
5 stars well placed without a doubt -
Edited 3 years agoPurchased this brand new. I recently did a massive Beatles listening session. My copy is flat quiet and sounds fantastic. There were a few issues with these releases. Back in 2012 things were still in the "vinyl woods" and MANY new vinyl records were problematic. Good thing most retailers would take the return and replace the warped or scratched product- again in my experience- this was rampant in the early 2000s thru up until and including recent releases- even my UK editions from this time had issues so I never believe the hype. That being said. I guess I got lucky because this vinyl sounds fantastic. Well...lets review.
I currently own many versions of this album- I will use only my vinyl editions as a direct comparison but also refer to the cd editions and the 24/96 .
I own the 1976 Japanese EAS version (beautiful) I also own the 1979 Capitol Vinyl (Wally in the Dead Wax) I also own the 2021 box set the 1970 unofficial Red apple edition bootleg the 1987 cd the 2009 us cd and the 2014 Japanese SHM cd. So I guess I have a lot to compare this to. When these reissues came out the rumor was that they were cut from the hi res files..this turned out to be sort of true--as 24/44.1 is still considered to be "hi res" by todays standards. I will also note a video from Bernie Grundman in which he states that he is less concerned regarding the mastering source and more concerned about the quality of the source. But that is another story. In my system...this vinyl sounds great. Is it the best? No. Is it the worst No. One thing I have found is that the sound on these releases is clean and "safe" sounding. No excessive highs ..modern sounding bass and drum mixing..and overall balanced sound. Now...many will argue that its not "original sounding" or that the "mix is wrong". I disagree. These pressings are modern takes on the Beatles catalog...and IMO ..they sound way better than the CD and actually rival the sound of the 24/96 hi rest . If you are new to the Beatles music you will probably love these. If you are like me..you will probably enjoy this for the sake of it sounding different. That is why I own multiple copies because the sound different..and IMO that is part of the fun of collecting. I will not bash these versions and in fact I purchased all of them. Take if for what it is. -
My pressing had bad creasing on the left from shelf wear, and it came pretty badly warped (but playable). However, the music quality is amazing! Mine is full, dynamic, and quiet, better than my abbey road 25th press in my opinion.

Si no fuera por “Maggie Mae” o “Dig It” sería genial. “Don’t Let Me Down” merecía estar ahí, en fin. No sé porqué a Paul no le gustó el arreglo de “The Long And Winding Road” si el instrumental es hermoso.
Es un buen álbum, pero no el indicado para ser el “álbum final”. No importa. Igual me gusta. ¡Amo The Beatles! -
My copy sounds very good, I don’t understand all the complaints. Pressing is clear with great stereo separation.

Listening to this pressing is just sad. It's flat, garbled, and tinny. It's akin to listening to the album on an old single-speaker suitcase turntable.
-
What a terrible pressing.
Surface noise right out of the shrink. I even returned my first copy and got another one, just to find that there was still surface noise AND a warp.
