Edited 10 months agoi have both this US 2012 pressing and the 2012 EU pressing, and they both sound really good. honestly can’t really tell the difference. both sound equally great. based on these reviews maybe i got lucky with my US pressing, who knows

So I was not going to pay $100.00 or more plus shipping from Europe for the German pressing .For $25.00 I picked this up , no problems with warps , skipping or any noise . Its a quiet pressing , and this was the last album I needed for the entire Beatles catalog . I would rate it at 7 out of 10 , it does not the vinyl warmness ,but I am happy with it . The bass, drums and vocals are strong , with a lot of great Beatles songs .

No issues whatsoever with my copy. Beautiful laminated gatefold jacket and very cool 24-page booklet. My copy came with a poly-lined inner sleeve. Overall top shelf presentation. This may not please the audiophiles since the 2009 digital remaster was the source, but the sound on this is excellent. Incredible stereo separation and dynamic range. Quiet pressing as well. I don't have an early Hörzu German pressing to compare it with, but I am very satisfied with this edition.

Edited 2 years agoThese get a bad wrap from Beatles "purists" and I dont get why. My copy is great and compared to the Capitol 1976 VG++ vinyl I have owned since day one...it is better. I do prefer my Japanese copy which is more dynamic and has a more expansive hi end. This version is "safe" though as they were very careful to remove the |"Sssss" which many complain about on Jap and Brit vinyl...doesnt make sense to me... overall if you want to hear the original Beatles recordings in hi res 24/44.1...which these are sourced from....then this is where you go. My copy is flat ... noise free even now..and the package is top notch. BTW as with all albums your analog front end is key...also I dont understand the complaints about warps and surface noise...warps are easily returned on new vinyl (of which I have had even expensive new releases returned for warps and noise) and surface noise should be cleaned...if still there...return the item and replace it...I just dont get it. I guess I got the only good pressing LOL. The sound of this pressing is very nice. Better than the cd versions and if you want the stereo versions all the way thru..this is a no brainer.

Of all the Beatles remasters, this one is by far the worst. Mine doesn’t skip cuz I clean all my records but the Surface Noise! OMG it’s Actually embedded in the recordings! You can literally Hear the surface noise stop for a second between tracks! And for some reason this one draws more static than any other record in my collection. The overall sound is excellent but when it hits the quiet parts, the “surface” noise is pretty loud. I’m Quite sure there are better pressings out there. Even with the fake stereo on Side 2, the quality of this record should match the quality of All the other Beatles remasters. If not, Redo it! It’s The Beatles! I’ll be searching out the German version from the 60’s. If that’s my only option for a good sounding pressing of this

Came here to see what people are saying. Mine sounds pretty good! Certainly compared my Winchester 1971 pressing, it's pure gold. I had a *very* hard time finding a good copy of this album. I'm pleased to report my search has ended.

i love the packaging and the booklet, but my copy of the vinyl is soooo bad. LOUD surface noise, and distortion so bad that the vocals on your mother should know reminded me of nails on a chalkboard

My copy came fairly warped but playable. No big complaints about the mastering, but the bass seems a little raised and the drums lowered on some of the songs on Side B but it's so small it could just be my setup. Largest issue would have to be the surface noise, it's noticeable on the quiet parts, my only other LP from the 2012 REs is dead silent though, so this may be just a quality control issue. Overall decent but if you've got a quiet OG stick with it, I don't so I'm content.
