Wow, from the second the needle drop it sounds amazing, echoing everything said below, simply amazing.

Think my copy is this one, but the run-outs are A-1-8 and A-1-10 (which I can’t find listed on the variants).

What is the superlative of "super"? Does not exist? Exactly my point of view!
There is a good explanation why renowned audiophile reissue labels such as Roxy Music - Avalon is an audiophile delight and for once affordable for almost every budget 😉.
☝️On another note: Although I'm not a biggest Roxy Music fan per se, I still pull this record out of my collection quite often. This overall already excellent album features the often-overlooked phenomenally dubby "The Space Between", one of my all-time eclectic mellow dancers from the early 1980s. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION 😊👍. -
Beautiful record and mixing.
The pressing has immaculate sound. My copy has absolutely no surface noise.

Edited 2 years agoThe US Masterdisk kicks ass in of how well it was cut, but I give this one a slight edge over all because of the fact there’s virtually no surface noise.
Don’t have the OG UK press but yeah, this is one of the better Japanese pressings ever made. -
Bought this as felt my OG Australian pressing was a bit dull. Now this is better! The music shimmers leaps of this wax and the bass kicks nicely too. I just lost interest in buying the half speed remaster!
