Dyers Green looks fantastic. But that's about it. The missing bass line has already been written about several times. The sound quality on this record is just shit. Muffled, quiet, muddy. If the songs weren't great on this album, it would have been thrown out the window a long time ago. Save your money and buy another Metallica album instead.

Edited 5 months agoDyers green looks fantastic. Superb clear, punchy pressing. Don’t have an OG to compare to re the lack of bass as some are lamenting here.
Great to see they have used a poly inner altho flimsy, has served its purpose in keeping relatively static free. Always worry about a two disc offering in a single sleeve as opposed to a gatefold. Normally results in one if not both records dish warped. Thankfully not the case here. Buy with confidence. -
The problem by trying to restore the bass frequencies, results in boomy heavy palm-mutes of the guitars. It is really tiring on the ears. Actually find this polishing rather poorly done, hence my 3/5. The vinyl pressing quality is good.

Sounds great.
My only complaint is Jason's audio has been turned up on the remaster that creates a drone effect on the low end
Also should have been a gatefold but at least you get quality vinyl when its all done on the same press. -
Sounds really good mostly, punchy and vibrant on pretty quiet vinyl. Only side B isn't perfect on my copy, quieter than the rest and with a bit too much distortion during One. Overall the mastering/cut is great though, they did their best to release more low end, Jason's bass is even slightly noticeable a few times, haha. A great example is Dyers Eve, which sounds absolutely brutal here!
My only complaint is that this didn't come in a gatefold sleeve, especially considering how much they charge for this, something between 45 and 50 Euros!
