Very good sound. Guitars are predatory and very characteristic. Great release, the band's best album
-
According to Discogs, there are about 140 vinyl versions marked here, official, unofficial and devils knows what else. Black, colored, single, double, at 33 rpm, at 45 rpm, and few bands can boast of such variability, even if these releases do not affect the state of the bank . And in general, the more Metallica releases new albums, the more often you want to listen to something old from them =) Without delving into the specifics of the sound of the previous 139 variants, and taking into that the reference sound is the first American press of 1983, conditionally the 140 version of 2023 is very and very good.
This release completely covers the need to have vinyl that is pleasant to the eyes and ears - it looks amazing and sounds great. Modern production technologies give us the opportunity to get a record in a color that perfectly matches the design code of the cover. Mastering is at a high level, there is definitely not what can be called a "flat sound". The balance of the instruments allows you to hear the part of each musician, the rhythm and lead guitar are perfectly accentuated, which live on a solid foundation of the rhythm section.
As for the quality of the products, the sleeve and insert printing are at the usual level, plus there is a protective envelope, but the vinyl was pleasantly surprised - it showed 195 grams on special scales. Perfectly smooth, really heavy vinyl with impeccable playback quality. And yes, a win-win red and black marble color. It is probably not worth evaluating the cultural value of this album. If you are reading this note, then most likely you can already sing these songs by heart. And even play a couple of riffs. If you suddenly don't have this record, then there is just a decent copy, which is still available at retail prices in many places. -

Edited one year ago"Kill 'Em All" Is Metallica's Best LP Ever & "Garage Days" There Best EP Ever
(In My Opinion) -
Edited one year agoIs it just me or does the a side’s guitars have a horrible scratching sound to them? I thought my needle needed replacing so tried on another turntable but could still hear it behind the guitars. I can’t it sounding like this on one I had back around 1990?

seems only to be the 2016 remastered rerelease on colour... was expecting the wallmart press. not a big fan of the sound so far but don't have anything to compare to. can anyone help and tell me which version sound better?
