Edited 2 months agoHi,
As I live far from Paris (6000km) I organized by phone the local pick-up by a friend of a so called "Mint sealed record". The Japanese press of The Final Cut.
My friend is not an expert or collector, he opened the shrink in store but didn't see the hairlines and spindle marks difficult to see at day light.
When I got it some weeks later I saw quickly it was a re-sealed basic more or less VG+ record with a missing insert. It costed me probably 3 or 4 times the price I should have paid for it.
We don't talk about bad record grading here: it's a simple and pure robbery.
This record is still for sale here on this page as Mint/sealed by that dishonest store called "musique.musique" in (Paris). Be very careful. I pushed my luck and gave it a try. A second try is not necessary. just don't buy anything from that crook. -
Stunning release. Outstanding sound - super dynamic, deep and spacious.
Great quality of the gatefold and vinyl itself - the surface is absolutely quiet, traditionally for Japanese releases. Unattainable level for modern records. Just five stars. -
Amazing sound. I’ve compared to the 2017 pressing and the OG Europe and Aus. The drums!!!! Very similar sound to the wall Japanese pressing. The best sound of this record I feel.

Excellent recording. My experience has been that the Japan pressings from this era are often better preserved than their US or Euro equivalents.

I owned german and US pressings and now I own this. I wonder if there is a better sounding version, because this Japanese pressing is absolutely great in every way - deep, warm, dynamic and crystal clear. The right world is ROBUST. I can highly recommend it to every one who requests the best sound quality.
