Most CD reissues splice together "Can't Stand Losing You" from two different sources: on most of these editions, the first 40 seconds are taken from a vinyl rip while the remainder of the song is taken from a higher-quality tape source. The exceptions are Outlandos D'Amour = アウトランドス・ダムール, which instead use two different tape sources: the first 2:05 is taken from the single edit's master tape, while the remainder of the song is taken from the LP version's master tape. The vinyl+tape reconstruction is also featured on compilation albums that include the song.

Excellente press, great dinamic sound and stereo separation. My copy is a VG+ and is amazing. -
Edited one month agoTo my ears, this version sounds very good. I had a Canadian edition that sounded veiled or muffled in comparison. I also had the UK edition that was highly regarded by many but it lacks the dynamic punch and overall balance of this one, imho. -

Mine sounds amazing!!!! Highly suggest this pressing. It’s very blue. Wonder if special quiex type situation. -
Sounds phenomenal, above average clarity for the era, and a good sound stage with fantastic bass on this pressing. -

The matrix on my copy is D32Y-3022 11 +++++
Not only does it have the version of "Can't Stand Losing You" that uses the vinyl rip, but the beginning of "Next to You" is cut off so it's missing the first drum beat. It's a shame, I got this CD because i heard it fixed errors, not introduce more :/ I guess if you're looking for this CD, watch out for an 11 in the matrix, you probably want a 21 instead. -

The Police only got better after this fresh vibrant debut full of raw ruff-edged upbeat 70's post-punk/pop brimming w/ hooks & energy resulting from the hybrid of their respective extensive jazz/fusion/reggae backgrounds & keen ability to play off of each other creating a set of sparse arrangements w/ innate pop sensibilities.
There’s something special going on here. -

This is the real deal. Sounds fantastic. Words and more words. -
I don't have any other pressing to compare and contrast with, but this is one is amazing! Quiet, clean, and full ranged sound with no harshness, no sibilance. Bass hits deep, mids and highs are just right, warm yet sharp and clear, It just sounds like how The Police would sound if you were there in the studio.
