I don't have any other pressing to compare and contrast with, but this is one is amazing! Quiet, clean, and full ranged sound with no harshness, no sibilance. Bass hits deep, mids and highs are just right, warm yet sharp and clear, It just sounds like how The Police would sound if you were there in the studio.

My wife picked up a copy of this reissue in a UK shop called Cash Generator for £3 today.
Both the sleeve and vinyl are in absolute mint condition and it turns out to be the mispress with "outlandos d'Armour on the spine. -
Edited one year ago"An Absolute KILLER Reissue" - "Beats my Original 79" pressing Hands Down" - "Raw as Fcuk" - "Full of Dynamism" etc...

Rega P3:RB880 tonearm,Goldring G1042 mm,Delrin Platter, Neo psu,Isoacoustic Orea bronze feet(x4)

The Police – Outlandos D'Amour/back to black 2009:
I own most of their studio LP`s and this being the first is many fans` favorites ("Synchronicity" & "Ghost in the machine" also for me!) and probably their rawest sounding with some hard hitting songs musically & lyrically.Sound quality on all three frequencies is very rock/pop with those sizzling highs, strong clear mids, and nice round lows especially on Coplands drums - SUBLIME!
My copy is noise free glass flat well centered and has NO SIBILANCE or IGD(inner groove distortion).
If you want to hear Mr Copeland at his "animal best" in the studio grab a copy, you want to know if Mr Summers can really lead on a guitar grab a copy - you want Sting in his OG finest...you know the rest it`s a deal,it`s a steal,it`s sale of the fucking century(Nick)grab a copy.
Still less than £20 brand new sealed from a large online seller with free returns(hint, hint),kicks my 79" copy into a crocked hat 7dys a week.
Music:5.0
Mastering/pressing: 5.0
Inner sleeve: Can`t but mine has an anti-static inner, probably didn`t come this way & is one of mine!
Cover: 3.0 Replicated from the single original cover sleeve -
I bought this album over 5 years ago and i think it sounds really good and the pressing is totally fine.
I made a needledrop of one of the tracks from this vinyl record - You can find it on the right side in the videos - Under the name:
The Police - Hole In My Life (Outlandos D'Amour) (2009 European Vinyl) -
So, this is an interesting one - my barcode/label code matches this version - but, no misprint, and the matrix has MILES ABBEY ROAD ROOM 30 - 3947531 A (and B) - suggesting it's the half-speed master?? (it was £12 NEW! so not expecting that)
It sounds great!! Just as good as the Abbey Road Ghost in the Machine.
Anyone shed any light on this? -
No noise on mine. Sounds excellent. I agree about the cheap inner sleeves used. Frustrating these are still used but fortunately my copy wasn’t affected.

My copy is pretty damn flawless. So quiet it's almost shocking. Level overall is a touch lower than other albums I have to turn it up a touch more but overall it's a really good copy.

I bought this version two times on Amazon. Song no. 3 'Roxanne' gets stuck on a loop in the same place. I read reviews on Amazon reporting the same problem. I therefore believe that some prints of this version are defective.

Edited 3 years agoThis pressing is fantastic sounding, I own original US pressing and have compared the two.
Plays nice and smooth, no noise at all on mine. 5 stars
