What an awesome album. After all these years I finally found a new copy and at discounted price too. Wow, it certainly has some heavyweights of reggae backing these two awesome women. What a great album.

My copy of the 2023 RSD reissue is shocking. Non-fill resulting in audible distortion in many places, and scratches from the packaging stage (it was a sealed copy). Mould residue caused a lock-groove between two tracks which was resolved after a wet machine clean. Seriously though... I know modern vinyl pressings can be hit or miss, but my copy of this title is by far the worst new record I have ever had. -

Too bad the cut of Uptown Top Ranking on this record is so limp compared to the original.
And if you're really wanting a not-so-snappy Uptown, check out the more simmering reworking of the track Althea and Donna did for the Reggae Bloodlines comp (https://discogs.programascracks.com/master/763762-Various-Reggae-Bloodlines).
But the Uptown Top Ranking on this their only LP is neither here nor there, simply middling. Rest of the album isn't unlistenable though... -
