This submission: http://discogs.programascracks.com/history?release=711853#latest has track times for the CD copied into this vinyl submission. I have seen on the majority of submissions I have been involved with where the track times of the vinyl had more than one track with slightly different times, mostly by a few seconds.
For the purpose of data integrity, I don't think it should be allowed to, out of hand, have CD track times copied to vinyl when the vinyl copy has no track times recorded on the sleeve, inner or outer, or label.

I agree. It was discussed about 8 months ago here:

Adding durations from one version of the release to another is not OK.

Awesome. Thanks! -

I think most people wanted that. So many CD times have been used on vinyl which are wrong. Often times they use different masters or even a different mix. -

Yes, I have seen it a lot of times. I think the majority of the ones I have experienced is Copying a CD to draft for an album and then just forgetting to validate track times.
Thanks again NIK.
I'm two for two!

What about if the times are wrong, i,e you add to PC, can you use them times? -

If the times on your computer are within 5 seconds of the listed times on the release, use the listed times on the release as it's likely just deadspace between songs.
If they're more than 5 seconds off, then you can correct the times, with a note of the listed duration. -

agreed, and if you're turntable isn't automatically calibrated, like the well known SL1200, it might even be safer to take a 10 seconds margin. (I use an old Lenco for instance, it's completely analog adjustment of the speed, and manual calibration, not a good thing to be too picky on track times in that case) -

Yes. My turntable has a fixed speed motor with two gears (33rpm/45rpm). I time by ripping to MD. I don't remove dead space between the tracks, just the start and end of the sides. I regularly service the deck with Rega, I make reasonable attempts to ensure it's timing is not affected by wear to the band or the motor. Accuracy should be quite reasonable.
