Printing Shipping Labels with Discogs Is About to Get Easier

We’re excited to introduce a new and improved way of creating, purchasing, and printing shipping labels on Discogs. In March 2025, you can expect a more efficient and streamlined experience compared to before. Below are some of the ways you can benefit.

Update: Our original launch on March 5 was slightly delayed. We’ll update this space with more information soon. We can’t wait to roll out these changes!

What to Expect

Fewer Steps

When changes go into effect, you will be prompted to an with our trusted partner ShipEngine. You will only need to provide your email, shipping address, and payment method once upfront. Now, you can print shipping labels with more ease and fewer steps – without checking out for each individual label.

Competitive Rates

When you purchase a shipping label through Discogs, you get the lowest prices for USPS’s Media Mail. In fact, domestic rates will be 11% less compared to what we currently offer.

International rates will also be below what is commercially available at the post office. An international shipment will be over $1 (5.6%) cheaper on average compared to what you’ve been paying since USPS’s most recent rate increase in January. Our international rates will also continue the holiday discount we offered in December with even lower rates on shipments to many destinations, including Canada, Japan, Australia, and key markets in the EU.

Streamlined Label Generation

We will create a shipping label based on your order information. Relevant details are pulled directly into the label so you don’t have to copy and paste anything. Just review, select your shipping option, purchase, and print!

How to Prepare

You’ll notice these changes in March. Until then, we suggest adding your active tracking numbers to each order timeline. When you update the order status to “Shipped,” you will receive a prompt to add a tracking number. Copy and paste the tracking number, and it will be accessible by both you and the customer.

Although tracking numbers generated by the previous system will not be accessible on the order page, you will temporarily be able to view your most recent shipping labels purchased prior to change. From there, you can also void them as needed.

If you need to print a new label for the same order, navigate back to the order page and select “Buy a Shipping Label.” Follow the steps to generate a shipping label using the new system.

Learn More

This new and improved flow is a result of the foundational work we’ve been focusing on. We replaced a less convenient service with a new solution provided by our trusted partner, ShipEngine.

We’re incredibly excited about the improvements. Until they roll out, you can learn more about Discogs’ shipping label options.
