Your Guide to All of the New Inventory Management Upgrades

Online music marketplaces have evolved drastically in recent years, and sellers like you need more robust inventory management tools to keep up with your business or hobby. We are gradually introducing upgrades to your inventory tools that make management easier, faster, and more reliable.

When these updates are available for you, you will receive an email and an on-site reminder. In the meantime, this is what you can expect!

Here are some of the exciting changes

You will immediately notice a sleeker layout, but the core of the upgrade is a modernized foundation of your inventory management tools.

Enjoy a streamlined interface that makes it easier to sort and organize your inventory

new visual indicators help differentiate status in the inventory management tool

The most obvious changes include the layout of the inventory management table, which we optimized for your convenience. You can now sort your inventory by artist, title, label, price, category number, and listed date. Item status – including Draft, For Sale, and Sold – has a new visual indicator so you get an idea of your overall inventory status at a glance.

Apply filters to locate and manage the exact items you’re searching for

filter selection is located at the top of the inventory management tool

Refine your inventory view with new filters designed to help you find, categorize, and update your items. These filters include:

  • Status
  • Date added
  • Last updated
  • Media
  • Sleeve
  • Price range

Perform bulk actions on part of your inventory, not just your entire inventory

select multiple items to perform bulk edits in your inventory

Previously, there were some actions you could only apply to your entire inventory. Now, you can easily select which items you want to edit and then perform bulk actions on multiple items at once, including:

  • Relisting sold items
  • Changing the price by a percent or flat amount
  • Updating the status
  • Adjusting the condition

Importing and exporting your inventory is more reliable

import and export functions are located at the top of the inventory management tool

The import and export buttons are located at the top of your interface so they are more accessible. We’ve also improved the stability of imports and exports, which means you’ll experience quicker processing times now.

What’s in store for the future of inventory management

This is just the beginning of our inventory management upgrade. Because we rebuilt these tools, we are able to respond to your and create even better features faster in the future. Thanks to recent input from sellers like you, we’ve already added new filters and the ability to relist sold items and perform more bulk actions on multiple items.

Discogs’ music marketplace is so much bigger and more complex today than it was nearly 20 years ago when it launched in 2005, and we understand that your inventory management capabilities need to evolve, too.

We began to slowly roll out these changes to different sellers starting in April 2024 to ensure everyone can check out the upgrades without disrupting their usual flow on Discogs. We are incredibly excited to roll out even more new additions, which sellers have said will be major improvements to their selling experience.

The best way to stay informed of all the improvements that will affect you is to sign up for our seller communications. We’ll also share the latest tools, tips, and resources to help you enjoy your business or hobby on Discogs to the fullest.
