Don’t know how this compares to an RL LP, but I found the bass on this Barry Diament mastered 80’s CD (direct from analog tapes) to be huge, enough that at some points I thought it was overpowering other instruments and Plant’s vocals. But man it made me smile. Sounds warm, pleasant, analog, some might find it muddy sometimes. I have the 2014 remaster LP and it sounds close to this with more clarity, balanced bass, a bit better soundstage. But man this CD has a special sound closer to the originals I expect.

Barry Diament's response to Robert Ludwig's LP version of this album. I feel like the vocals are a little buried in the mix but other than that it's great.
