Aren't clear cassettes mid-1980s? Is the clear version of this tape really from Nov. 1981?

Growing up, we never had a “good” tape deck. We had a turntable/receiver/tape deck combo type thing with floor speakers. Tapes were just another way to listen to music. We didn’t really take proper care of media, records always sounded scratchy, tapes sounded hissy, radio was radio.

Then CD’s arrived and we thought we reached audio perfection. Until you realize that you’re wrong and that everything sounds too clean and sterile.

I had this tape as a teenager, and never gave it much thought other than the music was great. Not sure what happened to that tape, but fast forward to 2022, I bought it again. All the years of listening to the same album on cd, even vinyl, don’t compare to what I’m hearing right now with this tape on a mid level Harman tape deck.

Warm, thick sound, the tape adds an additional layer of darkness to and already dark album. This is an experience right here.
