sounds great!
but i hate Lars's snare sound on this album, sounds like an empty oil drum. it gets annoying at times. -
Edited 2 years agoNot inky-black silent, but it improves with a discwasher cleaning and repeated plays. Otherwise, it's a beautiful pressing. Much more dynamic than the CD, with meaty bass and good extension on the mid highs. And with a wonderful visceral rawness to the sound.

Edited 2 years agoThis album is love or hate...and I LOVE. Heavy as fuckin' all hell. Completely under rated. This came out around the Napster bs, so the hate breeding machine was in full effect. This album didn't stand a chance. The riffs are punishing. And god damnit, I love the fucking drums, brah. Deal with it. Change is great and bold. Metallica are still and will always be tops in my metal bible. Oh yeah, and this pressing is excellent. Jet black background, excellent soundstage.

this was a really really great pressing. massivly underrated album too, dosent deserve the hate. i think this is probably the best way to experience the album

I’m actually impress with this pressing. Only song I have to complain is “The Unnamed Feeling” but let’s hit the highlights with the rest of the album. The bass has character! Love how much depth and flexibility the bass is. Creates the warmth and sinister atmosphere throughout the album.
Guitars: Crunchy with dark shades of color.
Drums: ..... .... it’s definitely have sharpness clarity.
Vocals: James sounds amazing without fighting the other instruments AS LONG he doesn’t get too close to the mic.
Now here’s where I’m gonna complain about with the one song “the uNname feeling”! IT sounds amazing up until James sings “Get the **** out of here” it’s has so much distortion from there it’s hardly listenable.
4 out of 5. Recommend this pressing if you can catch it at a good price. -
