My first review has to be for this album! Because - simply put - it is a true masterpiece!

"Based on a True Story" is my favourite album for the last 2.5 years now. It is soulful dub/ reggae! The tracks slowly evolve on laidback rhythms and beats. Some tracks have a little funky touch. The horns played here perfectly blend into the song. Not like these cheesy elements, trumpets tend to be sometimes. Warm bass and melodies!

    And then that voice!

Joe Dukie has that, what you call in german a "voice of a century". His singing gives me shivers! The lyrics are interesting and spreading positive vibes ("what's the world without soul?" - Ray Ray / "something mystic in the soul connection, something magic in your misty eyes" - Flashback)!

Music for the Soul! Music for the Heart!
