Being from Milwaukee, this album was a must. I refused to buy online so I waited until I found it at a store. I finally found it and I couldn’t be happier. Great sounding album. It’s an awkward masterpiece.

Have never heard a remaster of this...But I can't imagine I would ever need a different version than this one. Sounds fantastic, excellent sound to all the instruments, especially the bass and drums sounds.

Can anyone confirm if your pressing is on translucent brown vinyl?

This record gets people dancing at a party if they’ve heard it before or not.

Nobody combined angst and mope and longing and songwriting and noise quite like the Violent Femmes. Five Stars.

                  Aaaah, the memories.....

I will never forget the first time I heard this album. I was only 11, I heard it playing from down the hall and ran to my sister's room, and demanded to know who it was. I was addicted at once.
The Violent Femmes' first album is remarkable. It's intimate, it's nasty, it's tender, it's vulgar, it's mellow, it's vicious, it's funny, it's morose. If you like someone and you want to make them a mix, you need something from this album. (There's lots to choose from their first four albums, but you can't go wrong here.)

I don't know how much of an impact it might make on a young person today, but for me it was a milestone for an adolescent who thought he knew what to expect from punk rock. It also makes a great gift.

Best Rock Xylophone solo ever! This album proves you don't need to be plugged in to totally knock down the walls. Is it wrong that I use Add It Up to teach my children how to count?
