ITT people saying someone ripped off someone else when all along most italo disco is just a reiteration of previous rhythms, melodies and song structures :)
-
It was Bobby Orlando who "shamelessly" ripped off the melody of "Slice me nice" of Fancy in the song Helpless of the Flirts. "Slice me nice" was released earlier and back in the day there was talk on the radio about Fancy sueing Bobby Orlando and radio-DJ's marvelling over the audacity of copying a melody so exactly. By the way I don't hate the music of Bobby Orlando (and his many projects like The Flirts), in fact I have quite a lot of records of him (and his projects)

Yep, and this title is not "ion" but "Helpless (You Took My Love)" released in the same year whose same instrumentals but with a slightly lower tempo with the Flirts can be heard at the end until the fading out, arrangements matching the chorus in Fancy's. This said, it'd be interesting to know the precise moment of this year for both releases to figure out who exactly copied who.

Although one might think, isn't this a remake of The Flirts' ION?, it's a true dance classic of its own!
