if you have a somewhat decent cd player and a good speaker system with a nice pre amp, this cd can and will sound phenomenal, so good in fact that it can even be revelatory for this album and its overall soundscape and immaculate sonic charm especially on the epic the song remains the same, the rain song and no quarter. I've even heard small details buried in the mix on dy'er mak'er, over the hills and far away and dancing days I never knew were there prior when mostly listening to a minty RL OG German vinyl copy. whoever mastered this and whatever tape source they used did a banger of a job and I mostly feel that the original vinyl is the only real way to hear the epicness and deepness of the zeppelin sound but for whatever reason on houses of the holy one needs this cd in my opinion to fully appreciate all the extra and subtle nuances. I've heard great things about the porky / pecko duck mastering on vinyl of houses of the holy but they seem to be rarer than rare and very pricey regardless of condition, so maybe that is the one that is truely the bees knees as the kids say.
