Although with DJ Premier, it's almost impossible to pick a favorite remix (let alone a favorite beat period!), along with the Nike 2004 "Classic" remix, I think this is my favorite, Primo is a legend, and my "fan favorite" beat he did is probably "Memory Lane" on Illmatic :)

The Nytime remix by Primo is undoubtedly up there as one of the best remixes in Hip Hop history IMHO. This is Primo without the overt jagged style, good use of Mister Mellow and the Kool chops compliment perfectly. Proof that sample sources don’t have to ultra rare private press stock owned by Keb Darge, Gregg Belson & future traders who DJ at bars.
