Just received this great LP, cleaned, and spinning...My copy is flat, virtually no surface noise, and it sounds great on my modest system (highs sound crisp/sparkling, mids sound milky, bass is thick but not obscuring, great separation/depth, and the result is a clean yet powerful sound.). Plus, they had the foresight to place the wax in a poly sleeve, while including the cardboard insert...
(Fluance RT-82 w/Acrylic Platter, ATN-XP cart/5 stylus. Nobsound T3 Phono Amp, Aiyima A07 Pro, Kicker KB6B, & 2x Polk PSW10 Subs...Simple Low Cost Setup)...Happy Listening -
Yeah, I have to begrudgingly it that this sounds incredible compared to the original. Like removing ear plugs, the music is suddenly bigger and more detailed. The cover however is pure shite.

Great pressing! As noted elsewhere the cover art is a bit blurred but hey ho! Needs a good clean before playing. Recommended

Slightly dodgy cover art touch up aside, this is streets ahead of the original. A marked improvement in dynamics and punch and loads of space and depth of field where it needs to be. A superb master, in that it doesn't tread on the feel of the era or the original. It simply adds focus and impact.
Also - The plain poly-lined inner and card printed inner is always such a nice touch in these reissues imo.

Edited one year agoSoundwise it's a stellar reissue.
Though I have a huge letdown during Skin, where Siouxsie's vocals and guitar distort in the left channel in a most bizarre way. It's not even an IGD, it seems that it's printed this way.
It's still better than my copy of Juju that was completely botched by Optimal: the whole thing distorts all the way (with a micro-line stylus) and is printed incorrectly. Once again, Optimal is a way to ruin a near-perfect reissue. -
Fantastic pressing of a fantastic album. Vinyl is lovely and flat, absolutely no background noise and sounds great. Very impressed.

Very impressed with the SQ ! Sounds rich and dynamic and I’ve really enjoyed revisiting this fascinating album. This was such a fertile time for British music post punk, and Kaleidoscope is up there with Metal Box, 154 and Entertainment for me.
