This pressing sounds really freaking good! Cannot compare with an original BUT the frequencies on here are superbly dynamic. Pulsating synths racing like a junkie's heart beat will make you need to purge your bowels. Superior Viaduct did a bang up job! Vinyl is heavy and flat . Liner notes are greatly appreciated as well. For the price point you can't go wrong!

As the other commentator states. This pressing sounds absolutely fantastic. I was kinda indifferent to the songs when I heard them on my laptop but they sound so much better on this pressing to the point of being transformed to my ears. The analogue sounds are rich, deep and have separation. I've totally revised my opinion and now think this is a great album. One of the very few occasions that's happened from listening again on a different format.

Fans of the first two Suicide albums will love Martin Rev's solo debut. The lone vocal track, 'Baby Oh Baby' (essentially Suicide with Rev's smokier, more gravelly voice substituting for Alan Vega's), is of course a classic in its own right, but the instrumental pieces are just as compelling. 'Mari,' a love song without words, recycles the piano bass line from Suicide's 'Dream Baby Dream' yet manages to create an identity all its own, while 'Temptation' draws out the eerie, hypnotic celeste that lurked in the background of Suicide's 'Frankie Teardrop' and makes it the central feature of the composition.

The original six-song album was released in 1980. The five bonus tracks that appear on the CD were recorded in 1991 and have a Harold Faltermeyer-esque, dance-pop feel. The highlights of this batch are 'Coal Train' (which itself appropriates the bass line from Rev's earlier 'Temptation' and gradually builds to a mid-paced, almost sinister momentum) and 'Wes' (whose sassy, synthetic horn riff turns gorgeously spectral with a wash of dissonant noise, like the audio on an old VHS tape becoming fainter with the age of years).

Can anyone compare this reissue's sound quality to the original us issue's?

So brutal & so relaxed at the same time. Fantastic not only for it's content, but as well for sound quality. Such a pure and dirty analog sound, fantastic rooms, I doubt that a reissue can touch that sound. Musically it's very experimental, still keeps that rock'n'roll flavour through an industrialised landscape. Otherworldly genious.
