Compilation originally released in 1982. Six songs from the album "Stray Cats" and five songs from "Gonna Ball" plus the title track (which also appears on a US "Rock This Town" promo and later on the "Stray Cat Strut" UK 12” and the "Built for Speed" German 12”.)

This is one of the best ever compilation albums released!!! -
I've read that Compilations and Clubs sometimes don't come across as the best of presses. This one sounds pretty good to my ears. Not bad at all. -
Bought this in ‘82 when I was 12. Played it yesterday when I was 53. Sounds sooo good! Love this album! -
This album is so excellent!!! The quality of the jive. Totally danceable. The vibe is excellent. Musicianship excellent. Vocals - excellent. -
pretty sure this is the only one that matches mine, except the rim text is on both the bottom and top on my copy -
Sounds very thin and hollow. Not a great sounding press.

LA Pressing https://discogs.programascracks.com/release/23763857-Stray-Cats-Built-For-Speed is heavier vinyl and has more depth and imaging. This Jacksonville pressing is Shallow and non involving sounding.

Edited 2 years agoThis LA pressing has more depth, imaging, and involvement than the Jacksonville pressing I have. Vinyl is heavier than my Jacksonville pressing.

Edited 2 years agoBought this in '82 after seeing them appear for the first time on MTV. Relistening now with mature ears and the production by Dave Edmunds is top notch. I also never realized this is a compilation from first two albums and singles.
This pressing is wonderful, real sounding, and really flatters the band.
I will never get tired of hearing "Stray Cat Strut" and "Rock This Town".
4 stars. Recommended. -
