Well... Am i the only one who thinks that the quality of the pressing matters ?
I'm really astonished, because, for this one, the mix is very good and deep, but totally ruined by a load of clics and surface noise approximately at each turn... This single would have deserve a better pressing... And I don't think any of the RSD 2025 I bought have any quality check... -
This has a nice flow and great presentation and has just the right amount of p:machinery - more would most certainly have been tedious as far as known versions go, but I wish that they had included (The Echo Of) Frozen Faces 10:22 from p: Machinery (Reactivate) to let that track shine even more. Sound quality and all, but 25 mins on two sides is too short when they could have included The Echo for those that don't buy 40 year old 2nd hand 12"s. Take this break and dance!

The best sounding RSD pressing I think I’ve bought. Those releasing the Sisters & Nephilim RSD records from 2024 could learn a thing or two from this about how a vinyl record should sound.

This sounds fantastic, as the other reviewer has said, the vinyl is flat and quiet and it sounds wonderfully mastered. Managed to get the last copy in a shop yesterday morning, after failing in two prior... there was a lot of power walking around Soho going on lol

The planets aligned in 1985. Riding on the back of a synth wave explosion and once described as ABBA on steroids, German industrial engineering coupled with the ZTT label who had learnt a thing or two about multiple remix releases from FGTH. This is a perfect slab of electronica, driving beats and bass, laced with catchy melodies, noise and Brucken. Two ten minutes tracks that keep your attention throughout, perfectly produced and pressed.

I had no idea that there were quite so many variations of this, but hey, its ZTT so I should have known better! ...However the variation I bought - a 7" in the standard pic cover, the difference being that when you played it there were no vocals - yes, an instrumental mix.
I vaguely seem to that I read somewhere that there was some ZTT ruse that a very limited number of such instrumental copies had been randomly mixed in with the standard version.
Although at the time I was just rather underwhelmed & disappointed that I had an inferior copy that was missing the vocals!
...Many years later after my record player had broken and it appeared that nobody was interested in vinyl anymore and such treasures were worth mere pennies, I stored my 7" collection in plastic crates (theoretically secure as they had a lid) in my shed for several years.
Unfortunately when I eventually went to reinvestigate them before I moved house, not only did I discover a leak directly above the crate but also the lid had a crack in it and the entire collection was effectively 100% waterlogged & ruined, as they all stuck together as they dried out - including said instrumental P-Machinery. So sadly they are now all landfill somewhere :-(
Can anybody confirm the story of the instrumental 7"ers... or is my foggy memory playing me up? -
One of the best songs ever recorded, no matter which of the gazillion of versions you decide to listen to.
