I recently found a really nice copy of this Gloversville pressing, I was surprised at how good this sounded. I have also a UK yellow vinyl copy from 1978 DJE, it also sounds very good but the MCA is a hotter mix. The UK has better separation of the instruments. Glad to have both.

This OG pressing sounds great. In my humbled opinion, it’s the best album by Sir Elton John.

Incredible depth, detail and punch. This yellow vinyl pressing clearly bested my early UK (A4/B5/C3/D3) and the early US copy I have. Funeral/LLB also sounds much better here compared to the 12" that was released a few years later.

Just a beautiful album from start to finish. Sonically, it’s quite good but I wonder if a remastering might do it wonders?

Does anyone know if this was a digital remaster? The source can be the analogue tapes but it can still be remastered digitally. Any inputs on this would be very helpful! Thanks

Just got a copy with A4/B5/C3/D3 and it blows away my yellow vinyl from 1978.

this has been my reference GBYBR for years, and I have a variety of other pressings. I was lucky to find an unopened MOFI which I bought (for an obscene amount) because I thought I would never find another, and it wasn't probably ever going to be cheaper. That said, I like the MOFI better. It sounds bigger on my system, but it's not a huge difference. The Speakers Corner is still fantastic, and maybe it's the newness of the MOFI, but I'm just loving it. I'm now only keeping the MOFI and Speakers Corner, so about 5 other versions are about to go for sale.
