Norwegian company, founded November 25, 1929 (ed in January 1930), by Carl Martinius Iversen and Oscar Frogh.
Although started in 1929, it can trace its roots back to 1913 and the company "Carl M. Iversen". This company dealt with the sale and repair of musical instruments, gramophones, and records, as well as operating as a music publisher. When Iversen & Frogh A/S was started, the company "Carl M. Iversen" continued to run as a musical instrument shop and publisher, while the new company took over the record business and the Norwegian representation of the Columbia imprint. Both companies operated out of the same building, at Youngsgt. 1 in Oslo.
Carl M. Iversen and Oscar Frogh were the owners and sole board until Iversen ed away in 1938, at which point his widow, Anna Frogh Iversen, took over his role and ownership in the company. In 1953 Arild Iversen also became involved.
In December 1965 the company was combined with the "Carl M. Iversen" company into "Carl M. Iversen A/S". In practice this was done by dissolving the old "Carl M. Iversen" company and renaming "Iversen & Frogh A/S" to "Carl M. Iversen A/S".
From the start they represented Columbia in Norway, and they eventually took on the representation of more and more labels, such as:
From 1948: Odeon (previously represented by A/S Nerlien)
From 1955: MGM Records
From 1957: Karusell
From 1961: Philips up to that point)
But most importantly and noteably, from 1957 onwards they were given the representation for all of EMI Norsk AS.
