Anyone think this would be a useful addition as they;re technically not permitted under the ftf (cassettes and dolby seem okay) and why place it in the notes if we have a dropdown?
Makes sense to me, at least to some extent. Either that or explicitly allowing them in the free text field since I have noticed that they are already widely used in the FTF.
They are encoding techniques and since encoding techniques are available when choosing 'File' as format (MP3, AAC and so on), DTS and DD could be available under the 'DVD' format and DTS under the 'CD' format. I don't think DD CD's exist?. If DTS and DD are added as a dropdown under 'DVD' then PCM should also be added since it's also a common encoding technique for audio on DVD's. In theory the same goes for LaserDiscs but I don't think there are any music LaserDiscs that have AC3 or DTS audio.
Almost everything released on Fax +49-69/450464 since 2007 is 2xCD where one disk is a DTS disk.
I agree. If we have HDCD under CD, it makes send we allow similar under DVD and other the chnologies which adopt the given system. As for the benefits, if the release notes are primarily for explanation ions or information ion which has no other place, it makes perfect sense where easy to adopt and where it makes sense that we should make 'new homes'.
