"Produced & Recorded by Jimmy Bowen for Lynwood Productions, Inc."
http://discogs.programascracks.com/history?release=2891552#latest
What would be the correct role for the company on the LCCN ?
'Produced at' or just 'Record Company' ?
I think, "produced at" is not the best way, but ok for now.

Produced At - The studio where the release was produced. Do not confuse this with manufacturing.
so this is not an option.
I've always wondered myself what to use and then didn't use anything as none of the roles seem to match. -

At the moment, what tends to happen is this:
Producer [For Lynwood Productions, Inc] - Jimmy Bowen.
It's unwieldy though. It also applies to management and design too. -

There is a Designed At company role for artwork as I discovered today. So that can be used. -

Was thinking the exact same thing yesterday...

Producer [For Lynwood Productions, Inc] - Jimmy Bowen.
That's about as close as you can get... there are no LCCN-credits that fit the bill AFAICS

A "Produced For" company credit would do the trick... -

"Produced for" would be good. After all these are just production "companies" of the artist/producer of the songs. As far as I know it only serves for tax purposes and maybe for collecting royalties.
Here's a link I found on the subject (second post on that page): http://www.futureproducers.com/forums/production-techniques/getting-started/producers-have-publishing-production-companies-218129/3 -

I use it when a release says "Designed at" but 'for' does not mean 'at' or 'by', otherwise you'd use "Produced at"... -

That's what I was referring too. You first said that design has the same issues with lacking company credits (at least that's how I read your response) -

I have found an old topic with Nik's comment:

Therefore would be 'record company' ok... -

honestly I find it much too vague in this example to find any credit that would fit. -

bump this topic because it's not really clear whether we can add the Production Companies as Record Company.

Maybe it would be good addition to the "Record Company" to have a "Production Company" in the LCCN drop down. -

Yes please. I have put production companies in the Notes section because Record Company just doesn't feel right.

"Produced for" would be good. After all these are just production "companies" of the artist/producer of the songs.
IMHO "Produced Through" would be better.
It applies an attachment, which is open-ended enough for it to be 'produced for', or 'produced by', or 'produced with assistance from', etc.
As in Eviltoastman's good example;

But it is always "Produced for" on the releases.
We have an entry for almost everything but not for production companies. That is very unfortunate.

Seems the eminently simplest solution to me. It would be good to resolve this repeated issue folks have had over time since the LCCNs were introduced; just offer that one extra tag dropdown. -

My wish in the LCCN drop down:
Production Conpany
Management Company
Photography Company
Don't forget this last one, it is often credited on release: "Photography By... (name of the company)". -

The "Produced For" LCCN attribute was requested from the very beginning of LCCN. It goes beyond my understanding why it hasn't been added yet, although it appears on ten thousands of releases: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Adiscogs.programascracks.com+%22produced+for%22
(I mean: it needed just one forum post from my humble self, and the "Exported By" attribute was included as well…) -

Production company would not be right. "produced for" should be enough. It;s the credit which appears. I've never seen "production company" and seems to be pulled out of thin air and does not make any sense as a production company is one which puts on a musical production in the theatre, or am I missing something and is this what you;re trying to achieve? -

Personally, I've found more recently I've been in need of a Produced By credit for all the private event/school band type remote recordings I've been doing recently.
I have also noticed that in some occassions, like with Columbia Special Products type releases that it may state "Produced For (brand) By CSP" or the like, where in which the Marketed By tag was more suitable. -

I have asked for a developer to add this company credit - Add "Produced For" to the company credit list after "Exported By".
Well, in Spanish releases is quite often to see these production credits. It usually looks like "Una producción de [Production Company] para [Record Company]"—which could be translated as "A [Production Company] production for [Record Company]. So "Produced for" could trick some submitters—Maybe I don't understand the use of the proposition "for", but IMO "For" usually indicates "for" the Record Company. That's why I'd prefer the credit "Production Company". Much more unequivocal. -

Good point.
Perhaps an attribute like "Artistic Company" (as opposed to "Record Company") would have been better to cover all these variations.

Well, a good solution to this setback could be introducing a "Produced By" or "Produced Through" role in LCCN section (as it was stated):

IMO, "Produced For"—which I think is necesary—is not enough for covering the roles of production companies/labels. -

What is the difference between "Produced By" and "Producer"? -

I suppose in some cases "produced by" may refer to the physical manifestation of the release aka manufactured by stating that the physical release was literal a product of a manufacturing process by "company x". I;ve not seen many releases like this and none spring to mind. -

I'm not talking about the person who produces the record but about the company which produces de record. "Produced By", in the LCCN section, would mean "Produced By [Company]".

Finally El Cometa De Madrid was entered as a Series. Not correct in my opinion. A role for Production Company in LCCN section—"Produced By", "Produced Through", "A Production Of", whatever—will solve the problem. -
