I usually send with jewel case but cds may occasionally be sent without the plastic jewel case, in a secure envelope for disc and inlay cards. Depends on packaging requirements for the whole package, if it's complex (for example, a mixture of different formats). Please me beforehand if this poses a problem.
IMPORTANT - if you are ordering with the shipping option "Standard - Chronopost to depot for pickup" the package is NOT sent to your home address, it will be sent to the Chronopost or DPD pickup point that is nearest or second-nearest to your address that you supplied on discogs. And you will receive a message from Chronopost when it is ready for collection. If you do not receive a message then it has probably just gone into your spam mailbox. However, you can also check the status and whereabouts by clicking on the tracking number which you will find on the order page as a hypertext link. You have one week to collect a package at the delivery point. I do not have the time to check on the status of your package to issue reminders to the buyer to go and get it, and if it is returned to sender a second shipping payment will be necessary.
Also for Chronopost, I will need your phone number to be able to order this type of transport - if you do not put your phone number on discogs there will be unnecessary delay in processing as I will have to send you a message requesting it.
If you choose shipping option "Mondial Relay (pickup at depot), you will receive an email from Mondial Relay which allows you to choose the most convenient pickup point near you. Please check your spams if you don't see their email.
If you inadvertently choose either of thesenpickup point deliveries but then you want to change to one of the home delivery options, you will have to paypal me the difference separately by paypal friends and family. Please get in touch for the exact amount of the difference, and my email address for that. Please note that in these situations I will most definitely not cancel the order so we can "start again". That is because I would lose money to do so (when an order is cancelled or refunded on discogs the buyer is fully refunded but paypal still charges the seller "their" 4% or 4.5% commission on the refunded transaction. Not a lot of people know this. And not infrequently, some people sometimes get fed up with all this extra info and can act like I'm the dick because I'm holding things up for 1 euro. But if this sh1t is happening to you 3 times a week through no fault of your own, you quickly become preoccupied by these "small" amounts. It's not always just 1 euro, it can quickly mount up if it's a bigger value transaction. And please , all this hassle only crops because I am a seller who is making the effort to give buyers more choice in their shipping options. To see all the available shipping options, it's just a matter of clicking on a drop-down menu. I really wish discogs would do something to increase the visibility of this extra choice.

I use a standard pro cardboard mailing envelope with 2 extra stiffeners.
Most records, including sealed copies, are removed from their sleeves before shipping to prevent damage to the spines of the sleeve from records moving inside during transport There are exceptions to this however, notably if it's a box set, or big double LP, or a triple, and if the item is very tightly shrink-wrapped. If i shake the sealed record and i can feel it moving inside, despite the shrinkwrap, i always open it to remove the record before sending. If you absolutely need the record to remain sealed, please let me know this at the time of ordering, before i send it.
The tape seal used to package is marked either "FRAGILE" or "VINYL".
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER IS ON YOUR DISCOGS PROFILE
I ask all discogs s to update their profiles with that info, because that is required to order the transport with a lot of the companies. It's not because I want to you or sell it to spammers. If your phone number is not on your discogs address, I will have to ask you for it by message and there will be unnecessary delay.
SHIPPING RATES:
Some shipping rates are now available at good rates for uninsured deliveries, with good tracking. So I have changed my policy and I will now send by tracked uninsured if the buyer will accept responsibility for these types of packages if lost or damaged in transit during shipping.
Please note there is nothing i can do to speed up any delivery that is going unusually slowly.
Please note also that i can not accept responsibility for packages that are not picked up at delivery depots, or for poor communication by delivery agents.
