My copy is super flat and sounding great. The gatefold also looks great. But there is a lot of surface noise on both sides, kind of sounds like a strongly used, scratched record from the 1970's.
Nevertheless, 4/5 for the brilliant music, but too much noise! -
This is a HORRIBLE pressing. Had to go through several copies until I found one that wasn’t terribly warped. This entire variant seems to have some sort of edge or dish warp issue! I settled on one that wasn’t as noisy as the others I previously purchased (I believe all of the pressings are filled with tons of non-fill) and it only has a bit of edge wear, that doesn’t affect playability.
Overall, the surface noise sounds like a Girl Scout Campfire on this variant. My copy was cleaned on a VPI machine, but it didn't eliminate the ticks, hisses, crackles and the pops. If you don’t mind Goldilocks-ing your way through multiple copies to find one that’s “just right,” go for it. I’ll have to live with this copy since I’m not sure if the master tape exists. The audio quality control and the Xeroxed cover photo on cheap cardboard, masquerading as a gatefold is pathetic -
This is an incredible pressing of a frankly beautiful, astounding release. Super happy with mine. Sounds wonderful on my neutral setup. Was not easy to find, beware of bootleg copies. Mine was purchased new from a reputable record store and is an authentic, thick sleeve glossy Impulse release.

I expected true hippie nonsense but I gotta say I really dig this album, chill and yet featuring some technically brilliant playing. My copy sounded fine after cleaning but there are definite QC issues, the edges were uneven and there were flakes of vinyl in the sleeve.
-
Great music, good mastering but bad pressing! Got 2 copies from different sources and they are both warped. Really fed up with the lack of QC these days, this is simply unacceptable.
-
Clean, quiet, flat pressing, but it seems like this version is missing something. Solid sound, but wish I had something else to compare it to.
-
I'm quite the vinyl noob here, and I may not have properly retrieved mine, but have another variant of the matrix/runout code
Side one: IMP-228-A2-RE-I NRP (U)
Side two: IMP-228-RE-I-B3 WG/NRP (U)
I think this should be my version as the codes reported here are the closest to the ones etched on my copy, but still I am a bit confused. -
My copy plays very well. Deep bass, excellent separation, and quiet.
There is a slight warp in the vinyl on my copy. No impact on the music. -
Make sure you save your receipt after purchasing one of these 180-gram (more like 180 POUND) reissues. The vinyl is heavy and poorly-lathed around the edges. Mine had a noticeable warp to it; hard to tell how much it affected the music given the drone elements.
