Edited 9 years agoIf I had to keep one legowelt it would be this one. Here also I want to thank the person who decided to repress this album. I was quite desesperate few years ago having no hope to get it on an affordable price. Now I have it and can play it.
"The night must fall", "the day after", "we are the illuminati" are my fav here.
Also good to say that the sounds on this album seems a bit better balanced as on other legowelt releases. I don't know why though. -

Edited 13 years agoThis album is often played when the Bohemian Club gathers at the Grove. Major military contractors, oil companies, banks (including the Federal Reserve), utilities (including nuclear power), international media (broadcast and print) and the maffia have high-ranking officials as club or guests. Some pop stars (including morphine-disco star Franz Falckenhaus) also meet there for the Illuminati two week retreat every July. This whole album is often played then (nearly each years since 2002), not because it's specially good or original (althought it's way better than what is most often played on mainstream radio stations or music dedicated channels) but these analogue sounds have the magick faculty to reveal where in the hood babies are found in tears. Once a cry-baby is spotted within the confine of the Bohemian Grove, it is made captive and later used at the ceremony for Cremation of the Care; the eventual remains as well as unused cry-babies are later just plunged into a lysergic acid diethylamide bath and later sold in dribs at a psychedelic-fascist crusty-military bunker state near Den-Haag (The Netherlands), were this music originate from and is subventioned from the sold acid tabs. Owl is also the god idol of the giant stone head of Nautisch Scheveningen. I hope this information was helpful.

No less outstanding as an album in its re-pressed edition as it was in its original form, naturally. This appears to be the place in which Wolfers ties together his moroderesque-disco and 80s horror-film soundtrack influences together most convincingly. The result for me, is an LP which on the surface seems to be brimming with psychopathic malevolence, but deeper down - and following some dedicated listening of course - it reveals itself to be subtle, beautiful and groovy (in an unashamedly glitter-ball disco fashion in places). And given that it's packed from cover to cover with genuine analogue sound it's actually warm, human and reassuring. Whether the 'Illuminati' theme was a bravura conceit or a happy accident, I feel that in years to come it could well come close to being vindicated as well chosen. Masterful indeed.

Edited 20 years agoThis really is a fantastic record. Possibly the best thing that Legowelt has recorded thus far. Obviously it's heavily influenced by 70's and 80's horror soundtracks, but it stills sounds really fresh. Even on the less catchy tracks the sheer quality of the noises is quite astounding.

oh maaan...this is such a nice album, even though you can hear right away who did it it still sounds diffrent, very much like a soundtrack to some 80's italian b-movie,as someone said it recently. this is not a party album, but a long dark journey, legowelt style, that doesnt get boring...
