Edited 19 years agoBy producing this record, Mike Oldfield created an album for every taste in music. You like his older (instrumental) works in the tradition of "Tubuar Bells" or "Crises"? Listen to "The Wind Chimes". You like to listen to his popsongs? No problem, take the B-side. Even choosing from male or female vocals is possible.
Although "Islands" has not the same power or musical inspiration like the early Mike-Oldfiled-records, it is still one of my favourites. There are not many records as well-balanced as this one. And Bonnie Tyler's voice is outstanding!
