Hey guys,
I have a LP version similar to this one but the matrix / runout doesn't match entirely, and can't seem to find the right one. Would you guys know if this is just another variant of the same?
Matrix / Runout (Side A, Stamped): 81720E1/B PIRATES PRESS - MUSEDLP3 A
Matrix / Runout (Side B, Stamped): 81720E2/C PIRATES PRESS - MUSEDLP3 B
Matrix / Runout (Side C, Stamped): 81720E3/D PIRATES PRESS - MUSEDLP3 C
Matrix / Runout (Side D, Stamped): 81720E4/K PIRATES PRESS - MUSEDLP3 D
Note that the stamp '81720E' varies from my vinyl (as written above), to this version on Discogs.
Thanks! -
It definitely sounds flat. It's not just that's it's missing stereo imaging (it does), it's just flat as well.
-
I wouldn't say it sounds flat... More like the stereo imaging is a bit narrow. I think those are are different in definition?

Reading the comments below, is it possible that a CD transfer was used?
Quite incredible to consider for a major act / label, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility.
When a CD sounds better than an LP (especially given this is a 2xLP with the tracks generously spread out), something's definitely wrong. -
Sounds good enough, but it could be better. I can't tell if they did a proper mastering for vinyl or just didn't bother. I'd bet the latter is true. Still, worth having if you're into Muse like me.
