This appears in so many 'best ever' type lists I added it to my own list of 'stuff you missed the first time round that you need to check out on CD before investing in the vinyl'. The bass/rhythm guitar work is truly fabulous throughout, my favorite track was 'Here Comes Your Man'. Overall impression was of a Velvet Undergroundesque sound. I will listen to it again, maybe, but it would have been so much better, in my opinion, if I could hear Black Francis's vocals more clearly over the super loud drumming a little more often.

One of the best sounding CD's I've ever heard - so dynamic! Superb mastering! The orig vinyl is great also but there's a lot music to fit on 2 sides so somethings gotta give.

Doolittle was Pixies at their peak on vinyl and live. 1989. Come On Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa were great records but it all came together with Doolittle. Melodic indie punk. How else could you describe it. Personal favourites: Debaser, Hey and Gouge Away. But the album could be listened to from front to back without skipping a track.
