Edited 12 years agoThis music is very abstract and quite ineffably nostalgic, along with their pastel surreal covers. It's like you were teleported to some strange distant and deserted places where you've never been, but you know them from your imagination - mixed with some past locations from your remembrance. It's a little like wandering within a mysterious fog at night time, while only some bleak glow from street lights are showing you the way. The best example is track named "Just because", remixed in 1985.
Under Nylon and Take A Look are another strong and articulate french type, travelling piece of lurid goodies, especially the second one, which pours out a bright side of very optimistic aspects in such music, yet still a bit nostalgic. -
A raw display of talent. The first album by Martin Dupont is totally interesting. There are still edges and corners to be cut to get to a coherent sound, giving a less fabricated and more industrial air. Moments in here bring Cabaret Voltaire's Red Mecca to mind. Alain Seghir's voice is distinctive from the start, one of the real wave voices. Already shining through is their playfulness, giving an optimistic feeling to some tracks, a character I often miss on all too dark and gloomy wave records.
