Patrick Chardronnet - Eve By Day is better, even if this Oxia take has lent a bit of Border Community Trance to it. Not bad, but not as good or deep as the original Chardronnet version.

Edited 2 years agoI don't understand the appeal of b-side track ''Domino''. It's such a boring trance track, even worse than its precedent ''Eve by Day'' by Mr Chardronnet. At least that one has better synth and great pads. Domino is a prime example of how simple, minimal and boring, dance music became the last 15 years, after the golden 90's/ early 00's era.
The only reason to own this single, is the excellent a-side track ''Change Works'' which is a powerful electro house tune, a simple track but effective and energetic club material/. -

Well everyone has their own given right to love or hate, and nobody on this page is wrong. I bought both records (this plus Chardronnet's on Connaisseur) at the time, & it's Oxia's track that got the hammering just about everywhere for a few months. The proofs in the pudding.
Everything great is regurgitated in some way or another; it's just that Oxia crassly did it in a very short time frame! Imitation is the very highest form of compliment & flattery... All I care about is what makes people dance Their both good records just for different reasons, and differently sized rooms.
I can say 1st hand, the first time I heard this was in a big warehouse, & it smashed the floor to tiny little pieces, a poignant moment I'll never forget, like time itself had been hijacked by some bad magic. You can criticise 'Domino' only 'by comparison', but as a standalone track, there are few records out there that deliver such simple, mesmerising power...

To all producers, take a track from someone (Mr. Chardronnet in that case) just use different synth and you will make a commercial track and sells around 15000 copies ! ^^

A poem to a nostalgic period
2011
Jersey Street
Dance beats and rhythms set upon cobbles of soul and love with plenty of love hearts to hands. -
One of the best track played at Space of Ibiza. when I heard this song for the first time I said (wow this track is a bomb).

Edited 7 years agoI've never understood the hype for Domino...Its clearly a copy of Eve by Day by Mr Chardronnet....

One of the best epic melodies on dance music after "Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar". When i first played it just came out on vinyl and dropping this tune at 7am in an Argentinean club , the crowd goes travelling minds and all my friends get together in a big hugh. Nice and was played by every techno, trance, house, tech-house DJ until today. Classic!
