mine's warped to hell but sounds fine. excellent album. the most fun you can have listening to music

Sounds pretty damn excellent to my ears, better than the CD version I have been listening for years. Deeper and bouncier, with a great stereo image. Mine just has some minor scuffs and pops that should go away with a clean.
But what's up with the prices? I paid around 25-30 usd for mine a couple of years ago. Just don't overpay the scalpers, it's never worth it. -
Excellent quality pressing. I also purchased this record years ago and just listened to it again. There is minimal surface noise throughout - it’s more pronounced on Side D, but almost entirely unnoticeable on sides A/B/C. Bass frequencies are pronounced without being overwhelming, and stereo separation is great. I love the sleeve and inserts for each disc, including one with lyrics. It has nice disc sleeves with interior lining, which is good since the standard MoFi sleeves won’t fit inside the inserts.
Overall, 4.5/5 and one of the nicest records in my collection. -
Edited 2 years agoI originally bought this pressing in 2016 at Hasting's and just revisited the album on vinyl in 2023 - probably my 5th or 6th listen on these discs. I didn't have much of an ear to care about hiss or other related issues when I bought it and I still don't now - I'm far more of a CD and FLAC person when it comes to Hi-Fi listening. However, I will say that Side C has incessant hiss and static on my copy, enough to drive me here to note it. I'm using a run-of-the-mill mid-90s TEAC with a brand new needle, nothing fancy. But I do have some decent Micca speakers that make it hard to ignore on quieter songs like Verdis Quo. It could certainly be my player, but as I didn't notice it on any other sides I think it may be a manufacturing issue as reported by a few others in this thread.

Discovered this album (and Daft Punk in general) via the "Interstella 5555" videos played on Toonami back in the day. Found a copy of this for about $18 at Walmart a couple years ago, and it's one of the best sounding records in my collection. Something about electronic music really pops on vinyl, and this is one of the best I've ever heard.

Need to give more praise to this release. Obviously, the music is incredible and remains one of the best electronic albums ever released. Regarding this pressing, the glossy packaging is beautiful. The sound really pops off the silent pressing. The highs and synthesizers play crisp and bright. The bass, especially when you turn it up, bumps loud and wide. Really love this album and this pressing, phenomenal. Long live Daft Punk, will forever wish for more.

Utterly impressed with this pressing - until now I expected some pops and clicks - this is how every record should be pressed. Impressive. Sounds great.

Edited 3 years agoThese scalpers who've decided this record is somehow worth hundreds of dollars are ridiculous.
