This 6E/4E pressing sounds bloody great - and is still seemingly available on here in decent condition for pretty much the same price as a new pressing. Five Years sounds like it's being performed in the room with you, which is a cliché, but on this occasion I think it's justified. All the new Bowie reissues I've heard have been pretty great but when an early press sounds this good and costs the same I think it's pretty easy to choose which way to go.

Super crisp soundstage on the 6E/4E with a punchy bottom and excellent highs. The cymbals come through very well on this pressing vs the 1E/1E which is more creamy and muted. It’s really in the ear of the beholder to which is better. The forum chatter primarily rate this vintage early UK press as the best pressing for this landmark lp but the 1st UK is also very good. It’s just very different. Almost as if a light veil is over your speakers when listening to the 1E. Pull off the veil and you get this one.
