For a thorough analysis of this version of the soundtrack, I recommend seeking out Chris Malone's "Recording the Star Wars Saga", specifically p24-28.
As per Discogs review/comment guidelines, I'm not linking to it, but as of the date of this review it can be found at his website, Malone Digital. -
Nice packaging except for the damage causing disc sleeves.
Absolutely awful sound !
Find the originals if you want decent sound.

'Return of the Jedi' just can't catch a break! First the original release was only 11 tracks long and then this Special Edition goes and chops off some frequencies! At first you'll think it's fine, but eventually you'll notice something's missing, as if you were listening to an amazingly clear and awesome track that's playing in the next room. This also unfortunately partakes in the revisionism that marred the Special Edition of the movie itself - although the liner notes it that "Victory Celebration" was a new addition, it basically pretends "Ewok Celebration" never existed. Now that's some Bantha poodoo!
