Unbelievable, way, way ahead of its time! Beautiful, bought it when it came out and it changed my way of listening to music. -
The best album by Cabaret Voltaire by far and one of the best electronic music albums by anyone ever IMHO. The CD has 2 "bonus" tracks added at the end that appear on 1985's Drinking Gasoline album-length EP which is nice (I guess) but it really doesn't follow the flow of the rest of the album. -
Edited 20 years agoGreat album from Cabaret Voltaire that combines their distinct blend of acidy synth lines and spring-loaded percussion with obscure samples of televangilists, Charles Manson, and religious movies to jab at the heart of American idealism.
"Motion Rotation" is the standout track by way of being the most accessible, but I love the sweeping lonliness of "The Arm of the Lord."
