Well this is a strange album, this not the U2 I know, what happened? So I look at the sleeve notes and I see Brian Eno has got his grubby hands on it, and I guess this is why it's not the normal U2 sound. It's not a bad album, there are parts I really like, I just don't think this is the route U2 should have gone. Then to my surprise the last track comes on and Johnny Cash is singing, and it blows me away, I really love it, and dare I say this is the best bit of the album, and all the band do is back up that amazing voice. The album is just so all over the place, it's got some stunning moments and some terrible bits, what where they thinking, Numb is just awful, and all the electronic dance stuff should just be buried. If you want to buy a U2 album stay away from this and go and buy War.
Stand Out Tracks: Lemon, Stay (Faraway, So Close!) & The Wanderer
