Notes
Specialty Records Corporation pressing variant of original US release as indicated in label matrix by "SP".
B side label also has embossed/stamped letters E A S T more or less visible.
Runouts also have the Allied work order # (B-xxxxx) which means metal parts were derived from Allied metalwork. Runouts are etched, except for [Allied 'ɑ' logo], which is stamped.
During the performance of "The Electric Co.", Bono included a 27-second snippet of Stephen Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns". This gave licensing issues in some countries. This release does not include this snippet and has a shorter actual duration (4:51 instead of 5:18) which is also on the label.
The actual duration of track B1 is 5:25. Label wrongly shows 4:55 however actual duration listed after song title.

Who in god's name thought it'd be fine to put "SPECIAL LOW PRICE" on the damn cover of any record? I have serious concern for people and it looks like my concern goes quite a ways back. Great record. Glad I have it. For the record...haha....my copy is still in shrink and someone at the record store back then thought, in addition to what was on the actual cover, it'd be swell to put a big round red sticker that reads "SPECIAL PRICE" in white font. I mean.....what is going on.

Edited one year agoi can still my Mom letting me use her credit card to order this from 1-800-ROCK-BOX as that was the only place you could get this for a few weeks after it was released. i completely lost interest in U2 when i finally got to see them live a couple years later. but whatever. i still comparing the Boston 83 KBFH tape i recorded off the radio with this when it came in the mail, and i was really impressed that most of it was sourced from German TV that i didnt know otherwise back then.
this is a Killer live "E.P." (its longer than most rock bands LPs anymore) with fantastic sound throughout. still to this day, though, i always pick up the needle when "Party Girl" gets started. This Song just flat-out Sucks!!! more than a few of us were so attracted to this back then with it being an old song no one had heard before, but it very quickly became a lame-ass filler track on an otherwise Magnificent Live Record. we were hoping for something on par with "Stories For Boys", or "Boy/Girl", or "Touch", but we got that garbage instead.
and this pressing is fantastic. totally blasting it all home even better than it did back in 83.
musical content- 4.5 stars . pressing quality- 4.95 stars -
Mine sounds really dirty in the grooves. I wish I had a more effective way of cleaning my vinyl. I use this brush from “Big Fudge.”
