Traffik (2) – Untitled

Fantastic EP! The A1 is a useful intro track, leading into the highlight of the EP, "Resistance". Starting with a dark intro, with a few well placed amen snares, the drum pattern suddenly gets much more frantic and a 200 bpm Frenchcore style kick appears. This is just one of those tracks with so much energy - no glitchy edits, just breaky hardcore techno at it's most effective.

"Jansky Noise" on the B side is an incredibly versatile track - slower, and alternating between chopped up breaks and a fat kick in a pattern that's almost, but not quite straight hardcore. Combined with a catchy distorted bassline and a wonderfully twisted main synth riff. It's a track that fits in that grey area between hardcore, d&b and breakcore, and thus a very versatile tune.

Not only Traffik's finest release (against fierce competition) but maybe one of the best hardcore releases of the 2000s, IMO - can't believe it's still such a low price!
