Just paid a fortune for the red one, it’s it NM, but could’ve got it half the price, cos it’s black.I’m devastated!

Hi, I have this version , glossy outer, square corners inner with no cut out but both my matrices are A2 and then B2. I cannot see this variation here it's either A2 plus a B3 etc not two of the same. Strawberry of course.
The only place I found one like this was under the entry for the free 7" single, well I never had the single. I bought it the first week it came out so it still has the " merch. leaflet " inside but no other poster. It does seem to perhaps be the non vinyl version somebody mentions. In that it does have a very raised outer rim edge , a pronounced label rim edge and very cloudy dead wax vinyl. So much so that it looks odd, the dead wax area I mean, very odd.
Sounds ok still after a dam good wet bath. So any ideas ........? I am old enough to exactly when and where I bought all my albums from this era. So I know it's gotta be a first issue. -

Fantastic album. Last of the classic 'Replicas/Pleasure Pricinle' sound. A shame that the original LP mix has not been released on CD (all CD's are taken from an alternate mix, as the original masters have been lost). 100% find the original LP, great dynamics and the originally intended mix.

This is one of those pressings to be cautious about. I have both this one and the pressing with the free single. This edition was pressed on styrene and came in the glossy corners cut sleeve. The sound quality is vastly different, this one looses all the warmth.

Edited 7 years agoThe version of " I Was Vapour" I have on vinyl (ATCO) and CD-rerelease are different. On the vinyl there's an added synthesizer solo and some panning madness going on after 3 min 15 sec. Was this on the original UK vinyl?
