Björk – Vespertine

12CD set released in a blank box with a cover sticker on top. There is neither a barcode nor a catalog number. It may include a (barcode) sticker for store-internal use, but these stickers would not be part of the official release.

The box set contains twelve CDs with one track each from the Vespertine album. There are twelve different card sleeves to house these CDs. The front of each sleeve shows a unique picture taken from the opening sequence of the 'Hidden Place' music video. The back covers are identical.

The CDs are similar, but not identical, to those released (see, for instance, here) in August 2001 by Dazed & Confused magazine to promote the Vespertine album. While the CDs in the box set come in the same card sleeves, the actual discs are new pressings that can be recognised by their unique matrix numbers and SID codes.

In contrast to the promo CDs distributed by Dazed & Confused, One Little Indian made this box set available for purchase. There is no evidence that the box set itself and the CDs specifically pressed for the box set were ever used for promotional purposes - despite the promo references that can still be found on the back of the card sleeves.
