of the 5 different versions i have found in the last couple years, this is hand down the best sounding one. but this is such a poorly recorded record that this kind of brings out how thin the over-all sound actually is. and the tape phasing on the drums really sticks out like a sore thumb. the drums sound like they were recorded with mics down the hallway from the kit, and then the individual tracks were repeatedly bounced down on a worn out cassette. theres a few really great songs on this LP, but the actual recording takes away any of the power they could have, especially when compared to how hard, heavy, and totally bombastic the first 2 LPs sound. those both explode off the LP, this one is just kind of there. cant really think of any other way to describe it. oh well. everyone has an opinion, and this is just mine.

I have a sealed copy, w/ round yellow hype sticker "Contains Stairway to Heaven SD 19129." I can see it's a gatefold. Is there anyway to tell what pressing it may be without opening it? Thank you - Andy

This LP sounds awesome, actually one of the best sounding Zep IV's that I have heard. PORKY/PECKO DUCK mastering brings both the fidelity & that essential Zeppelin whomp.
